Starhotels Metropole

The staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help throughout our stay, and we really appreciated their warm hospitality. We were in Rome for our honeymoon, and the clean, comfortable room was a lovely place to relax after long days of exploring. Starhotels Metropole is conveniently placed near public transportation and major sights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. We'd happily recommend it and would love to stay again.

I liked my first room, which was moderately updated, but they couldn't get the AC working and moved me. I didn't like the second room as much. It lacked updates like USB ports at the headboard. I raised that with them, and they said it was still an executive room like the one I'd booked, but I don't believe that given the different style. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the first room.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, though at the price we paid, I felt that was the least we should expect. Getting there was less easy: Termini Station is only about a 5-6 minute walk away, but the roads are uneven and in poor shape, which made the walk with heavy suitcases difficult. We had booked an Executive Room with two single beds and were told it would be ready at 2:00 p.m. When we came back then, it still wasn’t ready, so we waited around 20 minutes. After housekeeping on the second night, our bathrobes hadn’t been replaced. The front desk said none were available and that they’d bring some the next day. Since we were checking out the day after that, we gave up and used our own clothes. I was surprised a hotel this large didn’t have a spare bathrobe.

The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, and the location was great. We had two separate bookings and asked for connecting rooms. The front desk arranged them at no extra cost, even though they usually charge for that. The one thing I’d change is the TVs. They’re really old and slow to respond.
