Stay Inn Rome

The location is the big draw: very central for getting around Rome, with great shopping right nearby. Security also felt good, with a building entry code, a card swipe to reach the corridor, another card for the room, and a safe inside. I found the place pretty average, despite the reviews. The rooms are modern-looking and mostly clean, though the floors could use more attention. At least there’s no carpet. The rooms are dark at night with little lighting, but better during the day with the windows and blinds open. The rooms are small, and the showers are even tinier. No shower curtain, at least. The concierge is meant to be there from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., but sometimes wasn’t even around then. After 3, check-in is all manual, with codes to get your keys from a safe. I wish I’d taken more photos to share, but completely forgot.

We were prepared for the room situation since we learned after booking through Hotel Condotti that we’d be staying in this building. If we’d expected to arrive at Hotel Condotti and then been moved here, we would’ve been really upset. Our connecting rooms just fit our family of five, two adults, two teens, and a six-year-old. Six people would be a squeeze. The room faced Via Condotti, which might bother some people with noise, but it didn’t bother us. The showers were tiny. There’s daily room cleaning, but no reception or concierge. Staff come over to check you in, and the elevator is so small it might fit one person with two pieces of luggage. The location worked well for me. Just be aware that buses can’t reach the hotel, so a large group arriving by bus will be dropped about 300-500 meters away and have to walk.

There’s no reception or concierge, so arrival was a little confusing. A bellboy was really friendly and helpful, which made things easier. The elevator is tiny, and getting luggage up or down was a challenge. The rooms were a reasonable size, modern, and clean. Great location.

The in-room continental breakfast left a bit to be desired, unless you’re happy with a tiny packaged roll and some cookies. The elevator is tiny too, with room for one person and luggage or two people without it. The hotel itself is a cute boutique place on a main road, within walking distance of lots to do. The rooms are well appointed, and the bathroom is spacious.
