The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were cleaned every day. The best part, though, is being right in Rome’s historic centre, within walking distance of the main sights. For a family of four, the room felt small, although that seems common in the city centre. It was also poorly ventilated, so we had to sleep with the windows open, which could be rough if you’re a light sleeper. A few things needed attention: our shower door was partly dislodged, there was mould on the shower sealant, some outlets didn’t work, and neither the safe nor the minibar functioned. The location is the residence’s strongest feature.

We spent five nights here and had no reason to complain. The room was compact but had what we needed, and it was cleaned and supplied with fresh towels daily. The staff were kind and helpful too. What really stands out is the location on Via Del Corso. Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps are both less than a ten-minute walk away. I’d happily recommend it.

Mauro made us feel welcome and helped us throughout our stay. The location was good too, but we hated the rest of the experience and regret booking here. The room was tiny and felt claustrophobic, with barely enough wardrobe space for three jumpers. The shower was dirty and mouldy every day, even after we complained. The walls were paper thin, so we heard people talking, coughing, and having sex. The city view might sound appealing, but it meant looking at buildings while listening to traffic day and night. Breakfast was at a small cafe down a back street, not in the hotel. It included only a croissant, juice, and coffee, with anything else costing extra. The cafe was closed for three days straight. The hotel refunded us 9 euros per day, while breakfast for two with those three items costs 35 euros at that place or elsewhere in Rome. The hotel was kept at a sweltering 35C while it was -1C outside, and we ended up ill. There’s no overnight reception, so when something bad happened to us, we were on our own. We’re very grateful to Mauro, but the rest was the worst experience of our lives, even though we travel a lot.

We booked several rooms in advance for a group with children and infants, with the number of guests specified. When we asked about baby cribs, the hotel said we should have requested them explicitly and that simply listing an infant wasn’t enough. They also arranged and confirmed an airport taxi for our large group, but the car never arrived, so we had to find other transport. The rooms themselves were decent enough, if not very large, and the elevator to the hotel is tiny. The service was rude and unreliable, among the worst I’ve encountered in a long time. I’d look elsewhere.

The room had a lovely old-fashioned look, a high ceiling of about 3 metres, a good bed, private air conditioning, and beautiful decor. You get a lot for your money, and everything is within a ten-minute distance. The check-in process was a bit hard to figure out. They need to give better instructions.
