The Colours of Rome

Sandro was a friendly host and gave us useful tips for Rome. Breakfast each morning had lots of different choices, and our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We stayed three nights at The Colores of Rome and had a great time. It's very close to the Vatican, with easy bus rides into the city center. I'd happily recommend it.

The people here were so welcoming, and the service was great. The place has a charming feel, and most rooms have a fantastic view. Our bed was lovely, and the TV and air conditioning were welcome in the heat. It's convenient for exploring the heart of Rome, including St. Peter’s Basilica and nearby restaurants serving delicious, authentic Italian food. I'd definitely recommend it and come back.

Sandro even found us transfers for half the price I'd arranged, which was a big help with a group of 11. We had the most inconvenient flight times, arriving at 8a and leaving at 2a, but he let us come straight in. He and his business partner Massimo helped the older people in our group use the elevator and got all our luggage upstairs. With 11 people carrying a checked bag, a roller carryon, and a personal bag each, we would've been in a mess without that help. The location worked so well for us, only a 0.6 mile walk to the Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, and the Vatican Museums. It was peaceful despite being near a major attraction, and we felt safe riding rented scooters and bikes around the area. We also had supermarkets downstairs for anything extra we needed. There were 11 of us, ages 16, 21, 26, 43, 47, 59, 70, 75, 78 and 79, and the rooms suited everyone. Each one had its own bathroom, air conditioning that was a lifesaver in July, and a small fridge. They were spotless, cozy, and well equipped. The shared space always had snacks and coffee, and I especially loved the fresh oranges and juicer for making juice. It all felt comfortable and homey. Sandro was great from the moment we booked, sharing personal advice on must see places and lesser known spots we wouldn't find in a usual guidebook. His fluency in English, Italian, and Spanish was especially helpful for the Spanish speaking members of our group. When someone in our group found that their hair dryer from the US wouldn't work, Sandro bought a better one for the room. There was already a dryer, but it didn't have enough watts to straighten very curly hair or give a blow out. If you need a place near the Vatican that feels like home, this B&B was a wonderful choice. Sandro went out of his way to make our Rome trip special, and I can't recommend his place highly enough.

The rooms were lovely and spotless. The kitchen had everything we needed for breakfast, and the staff were so kind they called a taxi for us. Great location too.
