I paid for six nights in July 2023 and got a confirmation email from Simone. Before my March 2024 trip, I emailed him several times during the week leading up to it, but heard nothing. The phone numbers either didn't work or went unanswered. For peace of mind, I booked somewhere else and stayed there. I still went to the doorbell, and Simone answered. There was no electricity, and the room wasn't clean or ready, so staying there wasn't possible. A friend of mine had booked it too and had to find a hotel on the spot. When I came back near the end of my Rome visit to ask for my money back, I saw three Italian travelers with suitcases outside, also trying to reach Simone and get in. They couldn't contact anyone either, gave up, and went looking for another hotel. Two weeks after I asked for the refund, it still hadn't arrived, and I doubt it ever will. Don't book this hotel. Use Airbnb or another secure site. Rome itself was fantastic!

The room was clean and fine, and the central location put us close to all sorts of interesting places. But when the automatic phone entry system failed, we couldn't get through to the main office or the host despite calling all the numbers they had given us. We emailed too, but only got a reply the next morning. My partner and I called again and again, then spent an hour waiting outside before someone finally showed up to let us in with a code. They should give guests that code in case the system stops working, so nobody is left stranded on the street. Management was poor and the customer service during a problem was awful. I don't recommend it.

We had a great stay and would come back when we get the chance. The rooms had everything we needed and were comfortable, clean, and well arranged. The property is a former convent with some history, and the people who welcomed us were genuinely kind. Its central location was a big advantage, especially with our children, who were 5 years old and 5 months old. We booked through Booking.com. For driving there, use GPS, cross Ponte Garibaldi, then turn left. Other routes can lead into the ZTL restricted traffic zone and cost over a hundred euros. Street parking along the Lungotevere is available with a ticket, about 5-8 euros for the whole day. I think the nearby garage is the only one, and it charged me 50 euros for one night. I told them I hadn't even paid 50 euros for a day in Portofino, so I chose the blue-lined Lungotevere parking instead. We got the chance to return in November 2023. Everything was still welcoming, clean, and well cared for, and the location remains strategic. The nearby garage has gone up to 60 a night, though it would have let me have it for 50. Next time I won't even stop to ask 🤣. Thanks again to the maisonette host, who was always very helpful. See you next time.
