Trastevere Loft Scala

We went to La Scala after our hotel recommended it when I asked where to find good lasagna. They were right, it was the best I’ve ever had. We also enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese, wine, limoncello, and Tiramisu, all better than expected. Sitting on the patio was lovely, with romantic lighting and heaters in the chilly weather. We’ll absolutely come back next time we’re in Rome ❤️

The food was a delight from start to finish. I began with a charcuterie board, then had beef filet topped with fresh truffle. The menu and wine list looked promising as soon as we opened them, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome.

We had a very pleasant family dinner at Ristorante La Scala. The relaxed, welcoming atmosphere worked well with kids, and the kind, attentive staff never hurried us. I ordered cacio e pepe alla gricia followed by Nutella Panna cotta, and both came with a smile and good timing. A simple, enjoyable evening. I’d gladly return.

The truffle ravioli was a highlight. They brought a big truffle mushroom and shaved it over the dish right at the table, so if you like truffle, try it. The pasta was delicious, and this ended up being my favorite meal in Rome. I’ll be thinking about it for a long time 🤤
