Trastevere Split Level Apartment with Terrace

The apartment was in very unsanitary condition, and this was the worst stay I’ve had in Rome. I visit several times and have stayed in both hotels and apartments before. There was dust everywhere: on all the dishes, and across other people’s belongings left around the apartment, including broken umbrellas, old shoes, and appliance boxes. The windows were very dirty and cloudy. The showers were dirty too, with some kind of slime on the floor and curtains that were dirty and moldy. The ground floor smelled distinctly of mold, especially on the stairs between the apartment’s two levels. The furniture was very old and partly broken, with stains on a chair. The sofa, which looked white in the listing photo, was gray with dirt and dark spots. The apartment’s condition didn’t match the photos. It’s on the third floor, reached by two flights of very steep stairs, and there’s no elevator. The apartment itself has two floors connected by another steep staircase. Neither the stairs to the apartment nor the internal staircase was mentioned in the description.
