UNA Hotels Empire Roma

This is a charming hotel close to everything, and I had a good experience at first. Check-in was excellent, the bar service was good, and the breakfast had plenty to choose from and was excellent. The restaurant staff were good too. The room looked cozy, but I found a dirty tissue in a drawer from the previous guest. That made me question the cleaning standards and what else might have been missed. The issues for us were the room and sanitation. Later, someone at the front desk asked about my review, and the evening staff member came across as confrontational. I found that intimidating. I had a bad stay, though someone else may have a better experience.

I spent five nights here, and the staff really made the stay. They took my gluten-free dietary needs seriously and were very accommodating. The rooms were clean, and both elevators worked. The location was convenient too, with major tourist sights within a 20-30 minute walk. I’d stay again when I’m in Rome. Thanks to the staff for making it such a lovely visit!

We had two separate reservations, and there were several problems during our stay at UNA HOTELS Empire Roma. The shower didn’t drain properly, so water pooled while we were using it, which felt unhygienic. The carpets looked stained, worn, damp, and not properly cleaned, and some furniture seemed outdated and poorly cared for. The first night there was a loud alarm or sound from the street. The hotel moved us the next night, which helped with the noise, but the room condition problems remained. Breakfast was included, but it didn’t begin until 7:00 AM. We had early tours and missed it on two days, and the hotel offered no takeaway or alternative. I raised these concerns directly during our stay and asked for a partial refund. They declined, even though I had photos of the issues. The rooms in reality were very different from the booking pictures. I wouldn’t consider this a true 4-star property, and I’d avoid it if you expect that level of cleanliness, comfort, and quality. Very disappointing.

The shower felt a bit cramped, and the TV channels were mostly Italian, which may or may not suit you. Apart from that, the room was comfortable and tidy, the hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant on site was nice, and breakfast was tasty and filling. The location made it easy to explore nearby. A solid stay overall. 🌟🏨✨
