The friendly staff, attractive hotel, well-kept gardens, good facilities, clean rooms with nice bathrooms, and good coffee were the real positives. We also had a good lunch at the restaurant on 24th Dec. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location, with generally good service, but our stay didn't meet expectations, and I wouldn't recommend it to friends. We booked a premier room through British Airways Holidays. It seemed that guests booking through third parties didn't get the best rooms. The first room we were given was very dark and faced another building, which was disappointing. The website photos were misleading: Premier and Deluxe rooms are much darker than advertised. We paid an additional €50 per night to move to another room in the same category with a view, though it looked out onto the high way and a bit of river 😞. Breakfast was very average for a five-star hotel at this price. There was a limited selection beyond scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausages on the buffet. Fried eggs cost extra if requested. We stayed three nights and got exactly the same breakfast each day, which became disappointing. The Christmas brunch cost €80 per person. The buffet was basic, the desserts were acceptable, and I noticed some had been recycled from the breakfast buffet. The starter and main courses were extremely underwhelming. It was one of the most disappointing Christmas meals we've had in a long time and felt like a complete waste of money. At checkout, a 5% service charge had been added to the final bill without being clearly mentioned or asking for our consent. That was very uncomfortable and an unpleasant surprise.

Thomas and Giusi made a real difference with their kindness, professionalism, and attentive service. We were at Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá for my mom’s birthday, and the thoughtful surprises from the team made the occasion especially meaningful for her and all of us. From arrival on, everything ran smoothly. The staff made us feel genuinely looked after, and we left already hoping to return. A lovely, luxurious stay in Rome.

The location worked beautifully for visiting the Vatican, and the hotel’s luxurious decor still felt relaxing. Our room was spacious, quiet, comfortable, and spotless. It had a balcony with a jacuzzi overlooking the garden and pool. The cleaning team kept it so tidy that they even picked up after my very messy 16-year-old daughter. We made use of the pool, sauna, steam room, sensory showers, and massages. The two women giving the treatments were attentive and kind, especially with my daughter, who was nervous about her first massage. Now she’s keen to have another. We had herbal tea afterward and felt completely relaxed. Breakfast was lovely in both settings: the follie room for the first two mornings, with plenty of choice, including for me as a pescatarian, then the gala room by the garden pool for the last two days. The sunshine made that especially beautiful. We also ate at Amaro a couple of times. The margarita pizza, tiramisu, and both the mojito and virgin mojito were delicious, the best we’ve tasted. One waiter arranged an egg-free tiramisu for my daughter, and several waitresses were especially lovely, including the one with wavy dark hair tied back in a ponytail who also worked breakfast. I came to Rome for the first time on Tuesday evening, March 3, and stayed through Saturday, March 8, with my 16-year-old daughter. We needed a restful break from caring for my elderly grandmother, who is receiving palliative care. Marta and the whole team made the stay restful, enjoyable, and memorable. The concierge, porters, and other staff were warm, helpful, friendly, and sincere. We had a few breakfast favorites too, including the hostess and staff who helped us with boiled eggs and iced coffee. I’ve already recommended the hotel to a friend visiting Rome in August, and I’ll keep doing so. If we return to Rome, this will definitely be our first choice. We miss it already. Thank you all!

The Vatican is just a five-minute walk away, which was a real highlight. We had a lovely long weekend in a two-room suite, with plenty of space and excellent service throughout. The restaurant served very good food, and breakfast was amazing. We also enjoyed the spa and found the staff friendly and helpful. Many thanks for such a warm welcome, I’d strongly recommend staying here. 😊

We spent three days in Rome during the New Year holiday, and a short walk of about 15 minutes up the hill took us to a popular local park to watch fireworks alongside local people. It was a memorable way to celebrate, and we might not have had that experience from another location. The hotel is close to the Vatican and within comfortable walking distance of Rome’s major sights. Wherever we went, the walk back was no more than about two miles. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the food and drinks across the property were impeccable. Every staff member we met was attentive, professional, and welcoming. This was the third stop on our honeymoon, and we were very glad we chose Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá. We arrived early after an overnight flight. Thomas at check-in explained that the usual check-in time was later in the afternoon, but offered to have the room cleaned and ready early for €100. After that travel, it was well worth paying so we could freshen up and rest before exploring. We were impressed by the staff and service, and would absolutely stay here again on a future visit to Rome.
