This doesn't feel like a four-star hotel. The cups are plastic, and the hand towels look like napkins. There's no coffee in the room for when you wake up. The location is terrible, far from the Vatican with no restaurants nearby.

The location gets two stars only because the area is pretty, though it's still far from the sights you'd probably want to see. I can't recommend staying here. This is absolutely not a four-star hotel, and it's awful. An average Holiday Inn or La Quinta in some small U.S. city would be a dramatic upgrade. I'm not exaggerating. We were meant to stay for five nights, but I got Covid and had to leave our tour early. I couldn't imagine spending even a couple of days here while sick. That would have been nightmarish. The rooms are absurdly small and dingy, with broken furniture. The bathroom was terrible and moldy, like something in a run-down motel. The beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were awful. Our tour group was catered for by the hotel, and the food was beyond terrible. One night, we genuinely weren't sure whether they'd served us cat food. If this is the only place you can afford in Rome, don't go. You're better off at home.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The dining room works for a small group, though it can't handle larger ones. It's good value for a trip to this area, with a great spot on Embassy House Row at the edge of the city.
