Villa Valente

The grounds are gorgeous and spread across a really large property. The rooms had a quaint, lovely feel, and the staff were so sweet. Such a beautiful place in the Italian countryside!

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and the cats wandering around were sweet and happy to greet people. It would make a beautiful wedding venue. The rooms were okay, though the TVs and the AC/heater were difficult to use, and getting hot water in the shower took anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes. Breakfast and dinner were fine, but the service was poor. The servers came across as rude, and when I asked for extra towels, an employee got upset. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, though the exterior design makes that feel less bad.

The villa and its setting are beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're coming for a wedding. I was here with a large school group, and half of us were put in what seemed like staff housing. The walls were thin and had cigarette stains, and the shower wouldn't drain. Breakfast was advertised every morning, but what we got was bread, lunch meat, and cheese, served only from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Staff made our beds while we were out, then left our room door unlocked. The lack of hospitality nearly ruined an otherwise beautiful place and location.

The scenery around the hotel was amazing, though there was little to no mobile signal, and Wi-Fi only worked in the main areas. Some friends were also kept awake all night by barking dogs. The rooms themselves were beautiful, but the staff didn't seem very present after check-in. Breakfast was sparse, though maybe I expected something different as an American.
