We traveled with our baby, and the owner provided a crib and even let us leave the stroller in a locker outside, which saved us from carrying it up two levels. The shared kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and the room was large and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet despite being so central, under a 10-minute walk from the Vatican and about 30 minutes from other attractions. Getting here from the airport by bus was easy, and from Termini it’s a short metro ride. I’d gladly return.

Check-in and checkout were easy to handle through the app, and the shared spaces were nicely set up with a coffee maker, washing machine, and fridge. The place is close to Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican. Our terrace room was sunny, but the terrace itself was much smaller than the photos suggested and crowded with two large heat pumps and two heaters, so I’m unsure how usable it is when they’re running in hot or cold weather. The bathroom window, which forms a large part of the shower wall, had rust, grime, and even mold around the frame. The towels and sheets also felt worn, thin, and wrinkled. With a few small fixes, this could be a five-star place.

My wife liked it too. The room and bathroom were very clean and close together, with a nice view outside. I hope to stay here again when I visit the Vatican, and I’ve decided this will be my place whenever I come to Rome.

We spent more than two weeks in the terrace room while working around the Vatican. It was sunny and clean, and the bed was comfortable with warm, cozy covers. The TV was a smart TV with Netflix, Prime, and other services. There’s a handy shared kitchen and washer, and they cleaned the room when requested since we preferred not to be disturbed otherwise. The facilities looked more modern and attractive than the online photos led us to expect. Erika, the host, was patient and very accommodating. When anything came up, it was followed up and resolved quickly. We also received our business invoices promptly, which can be a problem with other providers in Rome. The location worked very well for us. Virgilio Suite is around the corner from Castel Sant'Angelo in a posh area, about a 10-minute walk to the Vatican. The neighborhood felt safe at night. There’s a supermarket a minute away that stays open until 9PM, and parking spots can be found after 6PM, so arriving by car is possible. Gianfornaio is five minutes away for tasty, inexpensive lunches, plus taglieri and pizza. Get there early at lunchtime because local workers make it crowded. Nearby Chopstick Prati is an affordable Japanese fusion restaurant with beautifully decorated rooms, including Barbie themed ones, and Grekos serves excellent Greek food at reasonable prices a little farther along. We were very happy with the stay and recommend Virgilio Suite.
