Hotel Villa Flora

There’s an ice cream shop and bar, plus a supermarket, just a few steps from the hotel. I was there on a school trip. Our rooms were reasonably clean, though the windows and beds looked worn, and the room bin was so small I’d bring a trash bag next time. I wouldn’t open the windows if insects worry you: I found five dead bedbugs in my room. The food was bad, and some friends were served raw meat, so I wouldn’t eat there.

The village around Villa Flora is old and scattered, and it feels like the middle of nowhere. There are a few paths if you want to walk, and the place itself is quiet. I went on August 12-13, 2025, and was relieved to stay only one night. The rooms and dining room had no air conditioning, and in the August heat lunch or dinner felt like a risk of fainting. The bathroom was beyond comment. The food was acceptable only if you could stomach eating in filth. The rooms were filthy too: stained sheets, spiders everywhere, and dust three inches deep. The floors and beds were dirty, and the old, creaky beds made it impossible to sleep peacefully. I’ll never return.

The reception guy kindly suggested some lovely places to visit, and we had a great time. It’s a very quiet place, with spacious, old-fashioned rooms and good food.

The staff were courteous and kind, and clearly care about the hotel’s decorum. When some people came to dinner in pajamas, they were rightly asked to change into something more appropriate. I had a fantastic experience, despite what the other reviews from this date say. The one drawback was the bathroom without a window, which made it stuffy and impractical to use.
