There was mold on the shower curtain, water spread across the bathroom floor, and one bathroom had no sink. There weren’t any toilet seats either. This was a terrible first experience of Italy. The owner and the advertising agency both bear responsibility. One couple left and went to a local hotel. Someone needs to be held accountable.

The location was the one good part. For three days, I had to shower in cold water because the owner couldn’t get the water heater fixed, and nobody cleaned the room while I was there. There was no kitchen equipment for preparing food. It’s on the fourth floor with no elevator, so it isn’t suitable for people with mobility issues.

The sea view was overstated, and check-in didn’t match the time listed on Booking.com. After waiting two hours, the room still hadn’t been cleaned.

Really enjoyed the stay. The room was clean and very nice, and the balcony had a good view of the city.

The B&B’s central Salerno location suited my business trip, but the fourth-floor walk-up was a real problem. There’s no elevator, and the stairs are so narrow and steep that luggage is awkward to carry. Anyone with mobility difficulties could struggle badly. My room wasn’t very clean, and I could hear everything from outside because it had no soundproofing. Breakfast was practically nonexistent. I also felt awful for the bird kept in a cage. My company is still having trouble getting an invoice.
