The location was fantastic, and the host was genuinely lovely. They gave us great recommendations for food and restaurants, and for the price we paid, the place was okay. The host’s kindness was a real plus, though some of the rules left us confused. There’s no breakfast now, and it’s no longer a B&B. Check-in is self-service, so the host isn’t there. Coffee capsules are only provided for the first night, even though there’s a coffee machine and kettle, so you have to buy your own coffee and tea. We also weren’t allowed to use the kitchen or eat or drink in the rooms. The rule just says eating and drinking are forbidden, without explaining exactly what that means. The host also disclaims responsibility if electricity, heating, water, gas, or internet aren’t available, and for loss, theft, or damage to your belongings. Our blanket was laid separately on the bed instead of being tucked into the sheets, which was a bit inconvenient. We got fresh towels on day four rather than day three, but that wasn’t a big deal.

We spent one night here on the way from Puglia to the Amalfi coast the next day. Communication was good, and the location was very convenient, near restaurants, the ferry port, and more.

The staff were friendly and discreet, and gave us plenty of useful tips about restaurants, cafes, and transport. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with sea views and large bathrooms, and they cleaned and made the beds daily. Coffee capsules were provided each day. The building has beautiful, clean architecture, and it’s close to the train station, central bus station, old town, restaurants, and a supermarket called 365. There’s no place to serve breakfast, even if you bring your own food. The reception area is also the kitchen counter, with the receptionist’s desk and a fridge, so sorting out breakfast was a bit difficult for us. I’d rate it 8.5/10.

Paolo made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay, and the room was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. It faced the sea, too. The train and ferry stations are just a short walk away, with restaurants and other transport options less than five minutes away. The bathroom was clean, and the room was serviced daily.

The building is amazing, and la tartaruga s was kept spotless. We only stayed one night, but Paolo was a brilliant host and took the time to make sure we had a great visit to Salerno. We'd happily come back.
