The familiar, friendly atmosphere was a plus. Lunch and dinner were good and abundant, though with all that hearty Parmesan cooking, buttery tortelli and pasta, cheese and desserts, you’ll inevitably gain weight. They bring several servings of the same course too, which is hard to resist! A few things didn’t work as well. Breakfast has limited savory choices. If you’re happy with an Italian-style cappuccino and croissant or cake, it’s fine. The owner Andrea can be moody, so you may feel well treated at one time and treated in an unfriendly way at another. The rooms have an insonorisation problem: you can hear everything from the neighbours. If your room faces the street, you also hear noise from the old house opposite, and the view isn’t good. There’s no air conditioning, so it gets very hot in summer.

Maria Grazia is a true cook, and the Emilian-style meals were excellent, plentiful and always varied. Andrea and Maria Grazia are extremely friendly, always smiling and ready with a joke, and they make you feel at home. Breakfast had fresh croissants and cake, yogurt, juices and cereals. The rooms are simple but have everything you need, and were perfectly clean. There’s free Wi-Fi and parking, and prices are very affordable. The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the spa. I really enjoyed my stay and will come back for my next treatments. I highly recommend it.

The location is excellent if you want to use the spa. This family-run hotel has simple, clean rooms, and breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very good, with a menu that never repeated. The owner was welcoming and always available to meet guests’ needs. We’ll definitely return.

Everything here goes far beyond what you’d expect from a one-star rating: quiet, clean rooms, parking, and a back garden with a play area for children. There’s free Wi-Fi in the rooms, and the family atmosphere the owners create makes for a really pleasant stay. The home-cooked food is above-average quality, and the prices are very fair. We’ve been coming for spa treatments for years. The owners, Andrea and Mariagrazia, are fantastic, and staying here feels like home. The hotel is steps from the Tabiano spa and a 15-minute drive from the Salsomaggiore spa. Definitely worth a try!
