Antico Borgo di Tabiano Castello

The views really are stunning, and they were about the only thing I enjoyed. I came in with high hopes after seeing the photos, but the rest of the stay was a letdown. My room was cold and drafty, with no proper insulation or heating. I spent the night shivering. Maybe it’s fine in summer, but I’d avoid it in colder weather. The pool was full of grass, leaves, and other stuff, and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. The restaurant was a disaster. The food was bland and dry, close to inedible, with no sauce or side dishes. Even the bread was stale, like it had been made last month. For those prices, I expected at least some flavor or effort. You’d be better off bringing snacks or driving into town. The nearby castle, which seems to be one of the main attractions, is absurdly overpriced, and so is the restaurant. None of it felt worth the cost. Great view, but everything else was mediocre at best. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We loved our time back here, and the whole team enjoyed it. The views from all the areas and houses are fantastic, though walking up and down will keep you fit. Breakfast had plenty of choices and the service was efficient, with every kind of coffee. They also take your bags from the parking area and bring them back. Thanks again.

We had a lovely stay while visiting for a friend's wedding at one of tabiano castellos villas. Staying in a castle was an incredible experience, and the views around it were beautiful. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast on the patio with that view was stunning. A cart or shuttle for wedding guests on the property would be a nice addition. Also, if you plan to stay past checkout, keep in mind there isn’t much indoor common space. Still, it was a pleasant experience overall.

The spa and massage staff were great, and the outdoor pool is a nice place to read, relax, and have some wine. It was a little cold when we visited. The rooms were clean, though in such an old building we had to kill a few bugs each day. Beds were uncomfortable, with metal frames and a dip in the middle. Food was good, but it’s your only option unless you drive elsewhere. There are two neighboring restaurants with fairly similar menus. The hotel one feels more elegant, while the separate Del Colle is much quicker. The stay was peaceful, with fresh air, magnificent views, and hardly any noise, and I’d still choose this place next time. It felt like a 4.5 star stay apart from a few mishaps. On the first evening, we lost all water. They gave no explanation, though it was fixed within four hours. I contacted them on WhatsApp but got no response. The hotel restaurant had a very unlucky night too. They said there was a small kitchen issue and service would take longer. From 8-10pm I was given a plate of cold cuts. At 10 they apologized for the delay and food, but after four bites I found a fly in my meal and sent it back. They apologized again, gave us a real bottle of champagne, and didn't charge for the meal. They handled it well, and it really did seem like an unlucky night for the restaurant. The next morning I was late asking whether breakfast was still being served. The waiter kindly gave me coffee and some croissants.
