Excelsior

Rooms are generally clean and have a classic style, like a typical first-class Italian hotel. They have iron bars, large ceiling fans, radiators for winter, a refrigerator, a bathroom hair dryer, and one large towel per person. The shower has a curtain instead of a door, so watch out for splashes. The lobby is spacious, with plenty of sofas and a bar, and the breakfast restaurant is right next to it. There are two elevators, and you press "T" to get to the lobby. Each elevator can carry two people with luggage, or four people maximum. The capacity rules must be followed strictly, and if you board without considering your weight, you'll be responsible for any financial compensation. Reception staff speak English. Electric kettles aren't allowed. Power is low and is cut off on all floors at the same time.

The building dates from the 1970s and looks a bit dated, but the helpful, courteous staff made those flaws easy to overlook. Service was excellent, the food was worthy of a 4-star establishment, and small dogs are welcome.

The meals were good, and the rooms were comfortable, though a bit dated. The pool, however, was in such a deplorable state that it couldn't be used. Overall, a good hotel.

The staff are professional, courteous, and wonderful people. They make guests feel at ease and can resolve any issues promptly.
