We chose Dimora Turchese because it was advertised as a “luxury” villa, but what we found was neglected, dirty and poorly equipped. There was trash left by previous guests, stained linens, bad smells and damaged walls. The cleanliness was unacceptable. Basic items were missing too: only two glasses for six people, no coffee maker, sponge or dishcloth, a TV that didn’t work and a broken toilet flush. The welcome was practically nonexistent. The person in charge stayed only a few minutes and explained nothing. When we complained, we barely got any help. This is an abandoned property without even basic comforts, not a luxury villa. I strongly advise against it if you want a peaceful, dignified holiday.
The beach and sea are wonderful, and there’s a small grocery store just 100 meters away. Such a shame about the house and the agency managing it. The villa was nothing like its description: the table was broken, the sun loungers were dirty and damaged, and the linens we paid for were missing or stained. A door top fell on our heads, and the walls were moldy. There was no coffee maker, toaster or microwave, so we had to buy a lot of things ourselves. Our complaints were ignored, and Barbarhouse said everything was normal and refused compensation. Avoid at all costs!
The location is excellent and the property could be fantastic, but too many things were lacking. We had four rooms listed with double beds, but three had queen-size beds, which was really uncomfortable with children. Some bathroom shelves and towel racks were broken, and the upstairs bedroom had a very narrow shower and tiny sink. Those details take away from the convenience of having an ensuite. During the COVID period, I wasn’t expecting sanitized mattresses, but at least they shouldn’t have been smelly and stained. The outdoor table had six chairs instead of eight. There were four more in the kitchen, but why should we have to carry chairs back and forth? We were also short five coffee cups and one glass, and there were only seven soup plates. Worst of all, at least four of us had to take turns having cold showers. That was awful. We left a security deposit in case of damage, but for all the inconvenience they should have given us double. The air conditioning in the upstairs room was broken too, and a technician came after a couple of days. They’re lucky the location and sea are magnificent, because otherwise I would have happily given five stars.
The agency and reception staff tried their best, though I can’t say whether it was the owner or someone else’s job to make sure everything worked. Whoever was responsible, if I pay for these things, I expect them to be in order. We stayed in a very spacious, comfortable four-bedroom apartment, but some of those comforts were on hiatus. The split air conditioner didn’t work for our entire stay, and the hot water seemed to be on hiatus too. Three of the four beds described as doubles were actually queen-size. The extra bed was a camp bed or pouf. We opened it, saw its condition, and shut it again right away. One mattress had a strange smell, and a pillow was stained. We adapted, but the service wasn’t impeccable, as it should be under the contract. I hope this review helps improve things. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place with a lovely beach and sea, and I hope to return to find everything in excellent condition. As things stand, I wouldn’t recommend it.
The one bright spot was the welcome from young Claudio, who did everything he could to sort out the problems. The villa is very beautiful and excellently located, but it’s extremely neglected. The walls are peeling from bathroom leaks that look months old, the faucets are broken and rusty, bedside tables are missing, and some lamps are burned out. Two of the three beds listed as doubles were actually queen-size, at 140 cm. We didn’t use the sofas because they didn’t look very clean. If it rains, the reeds may lose their turquoise paint and dirty the car and terraces, and there isn’t even a rag or broom to clean them. My opinion is extremely negative because of the shameful way the management company treated me. Also, house sanitizing with Anticovit costs an extra €120.00.
