Residence Schneiderhof

We really appreciated the small, well-stocked minimarket on site. It had what we needed for a last-minute dinner. The studio was comfortable, and the Residence was in a very quiet area, about a three-minute drive from the Versciaco ski lifts. The staff were, as always in South Tyrol, very friendly and helpful.

The owner was kind and helpful, and the apartment was comfortable and quiet. The town itself is gorgeous, and there’s a small Conad grocery store downstairs. I’m giving three stars because when we opened the kitchen drawer on arrival to get cutlery, it was stained with coffee, probably left by someone before us and not cleaned. A small thing, but annoying. Apart from that, everything was fine.

The owner was very kind and professional, and gave us detailed, valuable advice. This well-kept, clean residence is in a very quiet area that’s particularly good for families. It’s a great base for exploring this beautiful part of the Dolomites, and the Austrian border is only about 800 meters away, making places on that side easy to visit too. Having a grocery store just below the residence is handy. Highly recommended.

We found the apartment comfortable and cozy, and Ciro, who welcomed us, was very friendly and explained what we needed to know to enjoy the valley. There’s also a special deal with the San Candido swimming pool, so we could have used it for a very low price. The apartment is in Prato alla Drava, just before the Austrian border and five minutes from San Candido. The village is isolated and has no shops, though there’s a restaurant and a Conad supermarket directly below the apartments, accessible from inside the building, which is very convenient. There’s a bus stop just steps away, but you still need a car to get around. It’s an excellent base for the Pusteria Valley apart from that isolation. The apartment has a living room with kitchenette by the entrance, a table, sofa and TV, plus a French window opening onto a balcony sheltered by the eaves. The balcony has loungers, a small table and a drying rack. There’s a bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and bidet, and a double bedroom with a wardrobe. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking. It’s very spacious, but I noticed some cobwebs from missed cleaning, at the top of the French window, between the curtains and in the wardrobe corners, and it didn’t feel particularly clean overall.
