The winery tour and dinner pairing felt like a fine dining evening, and we had a lot of fun riding e-bikes around the castle grounds. The electric assist came in handy on the hills. We also booked the truffle hunt through Gabbiano and highly recommend it. Our stay was peaceful and comfortable, and we felt safe in the castle. The views were breathtaking, the staff were very hospitable, and breakfast was delicious. We appreciated the welcome bottle of wine, too. We’d happily stay again and can’t wait for our wine order to arrive! A rental car is needed and recommended. It’s about a 40-minute drive from Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station.

Simone made our tasting the highlight of the visit. He was welcoming and knowledgeable, and clearly loves telling guests about the estate’s history and how each wine is made. The wines themselves were incredible, expressive and balanced, with a real sense of Chianti. The panoramic vineyard views are stunning, like something out of a painting. I can’t wait to return and stay at Castello di Gabbiano. Thanks to Simone and the whole team for such a memorable, authentic Tuscan experience!

The guide’s descriptions had loads of personality and made the walk-through a great experience for my kids. The tasting took place in a wine cellar beneath a street in a castle, with a picturesque view. The bathrooms were very clean, too. I highly recommend the wine tasting for all of that.

With lush hills and farms all around, this castle is a beautiful spot in the Tuscany Valley. The Mediterranean gardens and exquisite swimming pool make it easy to spend time relaxing here, with wine and food in a scenic setting. A real gem for a luxury vacation.
