Sweet Home B&B

Vittoria and her father Tony made our stay at Sweet Home B&B feel incredibly special. Their family business is so welcoming, and they went out of their way to make everything lovely. Breakfast was included each day, with fresh sweets and cakes Tony made himself. The rooms were lovely, with a balcony overlooking the mountains and nearby towns, and the beach is a five-minute walk away. We came to San Ferdinando, Calabria, Italy, to see where my husband's family came from. We walked the same roads they had walked, visited the beaches where they would have swum, and photographed the houses where they lived. When I booked, Vittoria immediately recognized the family name and knew people who still lived there. She looked into our family history and involved her friend Dr Barbieri. One Sunday afternoon, she arranged a meeting with my husband and me, Dr Barbieri, and her cousin Maria, who translated for us. He had the history of my husband's family on his father's side, going back to the early 1800s. It was such an emotional surprise. We were overwhelmed, and it was beautiful. They also arranged for my husband to meet his first cousin Tino and second cousin Maria, and we met his aunt, who will soon be 96. We can’t thank them enough. What they did has made his whole family so happy. They were simply glad to give us this gift. Thank you all so much. This lovely family will bend over backwards to make your stay a success.
