Our cottage was private, clean, uncluttered, and had everything we needed. It’s part of a large property with several other cottages, where different members of Flavio’s family live. They were all lovely, and the place felt quiet and very safe. Flavio was friendly too, and one morning he gave me eggs from the family hens for breakfast. They were delicious. There are plenty of small towns to visit nearby, so having a car or electric bike is a must. It was 35-40 degrees during our stay, so we had to adjust to the heat and live more like locals: get out in the cool morning, rest or nap in the afternoon, then head out for dinner and longer visits in the evening. We had a great time.

Flavio and his family made us feel at home right from the warm welcome when we arrived. They were attentive and available during our stay, and gave us great advice that made our Italy trip even better. The accommodation was just as described, clean and comfortable, and well placed for exploring the region. I highly recommend it and would gladly return on another visit. Certaldo, with shops and restaurants, is only a five-minute drive away. We also found it easy to reach Florence and Siena from the train station. Our apartment was newly built, detached, and had two rooms, in a beautiful, peaceful setting that was perfect for relaxing.

We booked through Airbnb and would happily return. The host was fantastic, and the accommodation had everything we needed, including lovely furnishings and a great terrace. It’s quiet on a hill, with the area’s main sights easy to reach by car or train.
