My friend became unwell while we were walking the Via Francigena, and we couldn’t go any farther, so we stopped here. The staff kindly found a shady spot for my friend to sit and brought water. They also helped me get on the wifi and call taxi companies, but none were available. Abdul, who was very kind and friendly, then gave us a lift to where we needed to go on his way home from work. We couldn’t stay that night, but I’m keeping this place in mind for a future visit. The staff seem generous and dedicated, and staying there would be a privilege.

Everyone was nice, and the place was clean, quiet, and amazing, but there’s a big thing they could improve. There’s nowhere to get a cold drink or order simple fresh food, and there isn’t even a fridge. There’s a coffee machine by the pool, but no coffee for it. With absolutely nothing to eat around, adding a fridge seems like a simple fix.

We had a lovely stay, with a lovely pool and staff who were really friendly and helpful. The accommodation was basic but clean, and the place itself idyllic. The main drawback was getting to the fatorie: the road is really a badly rutted track. Without that access problem, I’d have given it 4 stars.

We were super disappointed, unfortunately. The restaurant was closed during our two day stay, with no notice anywhere, and there was no chance to have a glass of wine in the evening. The pool also closes at 20. The property is very nice, but if we come back to San Gimignano we’ll choose another hotel.

The landscapes around the place are beautiful, and the staff were great. Breakfast was fine too. The hot water wasn’t working well, though, and finding the way to the rooms can be confusing.
