The staff were always cheerful, kind, and easy to talk to, which we really appreciated. Our rooms were such a surprise, beautiful and artsy, with a look that felt straight out of a fairytale. The surrounding greenery made it even nicer. We loved our holiday here and I’d recommend it highly.

We had a wonderful stay. The pool was refreshing, breakfast was great, and our room was spotless with AC that worked perfectly. The grounds are lovely too. We skipped dinner there, though after that breakfast I can imagine it would be great. Definitely worth the price, and we’d happily stay again.

Breakfast was simple, with a good range of choices, and I especially liked that the coffee was made to order just how I wanted it. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. My room was impeccably clean, and it was clear the hotel takes cleanliness seriously throughout. I stayed at Il Castagnolo from June 20 to June 21, and found it peaceful despite being only an 8-minute drive from San Gimignano. That made it easy to visit the town and local attractions. I’d recommend Il Castagnolo to both first time and returning visitors looking for a comfortable stay.

They helped us sort out the reservation, and the staff were great. Our room was beautiful, and in the morning they’ll make whatever kind of coffee you like. A lovely place, and convenient for visiting San Giminiano.

The staff were great and there’s a selection of drinks and food on the menu. It’s a little oasis with lovely grounds, a nice pool, and parking, all within about a 10-minute drive of Sam Gimignano town center.
