B&B Hotel Mantova

We paid very little for a clean hotel with everything we needed, and there was plenty of parking. The breakfast was fantastic. The front desk host was helpful and polite, though unfortunately I didn't get his name. He deserves praise. Thanks so much.

Rooms were clean and pleasant, and the prices were good. It's beside the highway, which makes it useful for a north-south trip, but it stays quiet. Breakfast is very Italian, mostly sweet cakes, brioches, and similar things, with some white bread and toast. If that's not your preference, it may disappoint. The coffee is atrociously bad, and being a French chain doesn't excuse it.

We appreciated not having to worry about our evening arrival, and the breakfast buffet had plenty for an early start. The staff were efficient and extremely friendly, with maps of Mantova and useful directions and suggestions. There's lots of parking, and the location is very quiet. I also thought it was smart to sell practical bits like toothbrushes and phone charging cables, and there are machines for drinks and coffee, so I could get coffee whenever I wanted. A great overnight stop on our way from Germany to Ancona.

The service was very friendly, and we slept well, though the bed felt a little small for two. The hotel sits in a residential neighborhood, but it was easy to find and very quiet. Rooms were clean. A few parts could use some touch-ups, like the paint on the bathroom ceiling and the outside walls around the drainage pipes. The breakfast area looked a bit small, but we left early and didn't eat there.
