The approach includes an off-road stretch, so keep that in mind on the drive in. The beach is about 10-15 minutes away by car, and the sunny view is beautiful. Rooms are lovely and cute, and there's a garden where they grow their own vegetables. In high season the food is excellent, and eating there feels like sharing a meal with family.

Traditional Mediterranean food made and served with love, and hospitality that's hard to beat. The atmosphere is wonderful. I'll always come back.

Cesare and Isabella, thank you! We loved the children and the dogs, who made even the little moments special. The views are breathtaking and Cilento is amazing, but for us those weren't the best parts of Il Rifugio. The hosts looked after every need with a kind of care you don't come across much anymore. Their meals, especially Isabella's mother's cooking, were among the best we've had in ages. Some of us have food intolerances, but the high-quality local ingredients meant everyone could enjoy the meal. It's tucked away in a wonderfully peaceful setting, and we were so glad we stayed.
