Agriturismo Casa Shangri-La

A peaceful, cozy place with traditional food and lovely wine.

The rooms were charming and traditional, and even had air conditioning. Sadly, that didn’t make up for the rest of our stay, which shaped our view of the place completely. We picked this agriturismo for its pool, even though it cost twice as much as others nearby. The setting felt lifeless, with nobody around to look after the grounds. The tennis courts just beyond the entrance had been left to fall apart. We couldn’t use the pool because the guides on its greenhouse cover were broken, so it couldn’t be opened. Inside, it was horribly cold, and the water was freezing since the pool had just been filled from scratch. Lunch by the pool was cold cuts, but cost more than a meal in San Daniele. We also asked for a tasting menu at dinner and found it overpriced for what was served. No price list was ever given for either meal, which left us feeling our trust had been betrayed. We should have asked beforehand, but at an agriturismo we didn’t expect a poolside plate of cold cuts to cost over €20 per person.

Antonella was helpful, warm, and professional throughout, and we had a great time. We came from out of town, stayed in the rooms, then held my daughter’s 18th birthday party here. The food was excellent, with ingredients chosen carefully, and the wines were top quality. Thanks again for everything!

The rooms are okay and the hosts are attentive, but the place has clearly seen better times. The garden and pool are badly neglected, the tennis court can’t be used, and the restaurant is closed.
