Pomele (BOL370)

We had a great stay, and the owners were kind and helpful. The ground-floor apartments have two porches, which are nice on cooler days and evenings. There's plenty to do, with a pool, ping pong, a gym, and a tennis court. The lake views are lovely, and although every room had convectors, we never needed the air conditioning.

The apartment was well kept and had a kitchenette where we could cook comfortably. The mattress was a little hard, but those four days still felt like a dream, surrounded by nature and far from stress. The birds were the only sound, and the pool gave us a beautiful view of the lake. Such a peaceful place. I'd definitely come back 😊

The pool and the amazing view were the best parts. Getting to the large, secluded property means driving about 2 km on a very dusty road, and the rural setting brings lots of big insects and spiders that also get into the apartment. The furnishings are very basic. I'd recommend a ground-floor apartment, since the upstairs ones have no balcony. Their air conditioning struggles in the big rooms, which have no insulation below the roof tiles, and that can mean a hefty electricity bill. Laundry is another adventure: the machines are in a remote wooden shed and look mostly rusty, so I have serious doubts they'll work. If you like an adventure, this place could be for you.

The staff are attentive and friendly, and the location sits high up with a breathtaking lake view from the lovely pool. The garden is very well cared for. One thing, though: they water the lawn at awkward times, and the initial cleanliness could be better. Still, the best place in the area. Recommended.
