Best Western Hotel Turismo

The receptionist, Anna, was a star and always greeted us with a smile. The location is great value, and we could park for free either in the garage or outside. Our room was spacious and functional, with a big, comfortable bed. We didn’t have breakfast.

Friendly staff and clean, well-kept rooms and interiors made this a great hotel. Breakfast was filling and enjoyable. It’s about a 20-minute drive to the city center, and I’d definitely recommend it for families.

The staff were friendly and the place was clean, but the rooms were incredibly tiny, maybe the smallest I've had in a hotel. It's a fairly cheap option about a 20-minute drive from Verona's center. I'd skip breakfast, the food wasn't good quality, and there are a few other places nearby. A pretty average choice for a four-star hotel.

We came to Verona excited for the Opera in the Arena, but our stay at Best Western Hotel Turismo was deeply disappointing. The room had a strong, unpleasant odor that we thought was insecticide. I asked reception to move us, but they refused and said they'd purify the air. Instead, they brought a chlorine-based disinfectant, and my wife had to spend the evening in the car until that smell faded. The original odor stayed for the rest of our stay. I put up with it because I didn't want a confrontation, but later learned there were empty rooms, and saw rooms that didn't smell. The explanations felt like obvious lies. We feel the hotel cheated us and are completely disappointed with how we were made to stay there.
