Villa Charme

The rooms are beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and have a good range of comforts. The property itself is lovely, set among greenery with all those natural scents. Staff are polite, welcoming, and ready to help with what you need. This is a top-notch place, and my go-to every time.

We arrived at the property after booking through Booking.com and found nobody waiting, even though I'd given them the arrival time they asked for. When I called, they said we had to wait about 45 minutes because the customer must notify them of arrival in advance. Why ask for the time on the website if I still have to call? We ended up getting into the room an hour late. The woman answering calls had no idea how to be polite or courteous to customers. The room was dirty and unhygienic, the bathroom and toilet didn't work properly, and hot water took an hour of running the tap. That wasted water and precious time. The air conditioner seemed to be from the '90s and roared like a jet engine, so expect sleepless nights. Staff professionalism was nonexistent. This was the suite, so I can only imagine the other rooms. They also rent the place to friends and relatives, apparently themselves, who ruined a supposedly relaxing weekend by screaming and banging all night like geese. The location was even worse, though that part is subjective. It was a lousy weekend. They do make you pay in advance, which is lucky for them, because otherwise I wouldn't have paid a cent to stay there.

Room 1: the bidet had no water and the shower wouldn't run. The water was full of limescale, the windows were dirty, and the mattresses were stained. We spent the night without disposable toothpaste or toothbrushes.

Tamara and her brother were very kind and always available to guests. The rooms were airy, clean, and well equipped, with a bathroom straight out of the Arabian Nights. There's also a terrace for relaxing or catching some sun. The place is magnificent, the hospitality fantastic, and the price very affordable. Connections to Naples, Salerno, and the Amalfi Coast are excellent.
