Agriturismo La Buca di Bellugi

I was on the PUBLIC trail shown on the official Val d'Orcia maps, which passes the agriturismo, and naively stepped into a nearby stubble field to take pictures. It wasn’t fenced or marked. The man mentioned in other reviews drove over and shouted abuse at me. I returned to the path and apologised, while pointing out that there were no signs or fence to show the field was private. He just kept abusing me. He eventually drove away, but watched me through binoculars from the agriturismo until I was out of sight. Pretty much the same thing happened to a Polish couple who took a wrong turn down the road. If that’s how he treats guests, stay far, far away.

The path by the property is marked as a public trail. I was following my bike GPS and thought it had sent me the wrong way when the proprietor started yelling at me. I apologised and turned around, but he carried on. I went up the hill and photographed both the public trail sign and the sign for his business, Agriturismo La Buca. He turned an otherwise fine day into a bad one. I’m writing to warn others after reading similar accounts from people who dealt with this angry man.

Good breakfast, and the owners are really kind. They welcome all kinds of couples, including LGBT couples, without any issue. A nice, friendly B&B right in the middle of val d'orcia.

It’s a beautiful spot with a perfect view of Tuscany, and the hosts were very kind. We didn’t speak Italian and they didn’t speak English, but we managed just fine.
