Appartamento Li Menduli

Simone, the manager, arranged a different residence directly with me in February. I tried several times to reach him and almost never heard back. Then, on the evening we were leaving for the island, he called to say there’d been a sudden sewer problem and that he had found us alternative accommodation he said was better. The only difference I could see between the “Li Menduli” residence and the other one was its size. It had no air conditioning, despite my specifically asking for it when I booked. There was also a bathroom leak that had damaged the wall in the adjoining room. The repair was done fairly quickly while we were at the beach, but the person fixing it used my underwear to dab up the water! The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the double bed had two separate mattresses that my husband sank between. It wasn’t a terrible place, and it did have an old washing machine and two bikes to use, but there’s clearly room for improvement.

The receptionist was cheerful and helpful, gave us excursion tips, and was ready to assist with anything we needed. The apartments are simple, with just the basics, but I felt comfortable there and would return. San Teodoro’s center is an easy walk; for the beach, a car is better, since La Cinta is about 1.8 km away.

This is our second year staying here, and we’re already planning to come back next year. The rooms are small but new, and the staff are especially friendly and helpful. The location near the center is excellent.

We cancelled the reservation and will stay somewhere else. Be very careful. After booking, we saw the many negative reviews and asked which apartment we’d actually be staying in, since we had no written confirmation of that or of the terms discussed by phone. The email we received only sent us to a link saying cancellation was free at any time and asking for card details as a guarantee, which the person on the phone had advised us to enter. After we emailed for clarification and got no reply, there was an attempted online purchase using that card. Luckily, it didn’t go through. We never use that card for online purchases, so I’ll leave you to judge the circumstances.
