The view is lovely on a sunny afternoon, and the front desk staff were really nice. The gate also felt very secure. But the whole operation seemed sloppy, and the bar service was terrible. We waited 45 minutes for a drinks menu, eventually went to get one ourselves, then waited another 45 minutes for drinks after ordering. The food took even longer. The bar staff acted like they didn't want us there, despite the front desk sending us to the bar, roof deck and patio for food and drinks. We eventually left after seeing a child and other people who didn't work there behind the bar, touching things and making themselves food and drinks. I don't know if they were the owners, but they seemed more interested in having a party than looking after guests. I stayed for a few days. The new wing was still being built, and the rooms may be nice once it's finished. The shower leaked, though I assume that might improve after construction. Parking was a gravel lot, mostly occupied by construction workers during the day, even though the front gate itself was secure. As someone travelling from another country, I felt less welcome than at the other places I stayed. The hotel could be really good if they changed some staff and improved their hospitality.

The new building wasn't ready for guests. The stairways were unfinished, construction materials were scattered around, and there was no elevator. Our room was new, but the air conditioning didn't work at all. It was hotter inside than outside during very hot days. Staff just said they were working on it. When we asked to move to another building, they said there was no space. Management knew the building wasn't ready and had no working AC, yet placed us and other guests there anyway. There was no in-room safe or even slippers. This stay was highly uncomfortable and far below what a hotel at this level should provide.

For 140 EUR we got a family room with no windows. The hotel wouldn't cancel the booking or offer us another room at first. After 90 minutes in the lobby insisting on speaking with the manager, we finally got a different room. It was smaller and an inferior class, but at least the bedroom had windows. I'd check the room before booking or paying.

Hotel Villa Levi was a great base for exploring San Remo, and we'd gladly return. The staff made us feel welcome, our room was clean and comfortable, and on-site parking was a big bonus. It also worked perfectly for our small dog, with a very pet-friendly atmosphere.

The location is perfect, right in front of the sea and a 15-20 minute walk from the city center. The garden and terrace are really beautiful, and the first floor is especially lovely and aesthetic. Our regular room was a bit small, but the service was good. There's also a piano and a beautiful fireplace.
