August 2024. I wouldn't recommend this place, as other reviews have said. There’s no air conditioning, so it gets hot in summer, and the windows can’t all be opened because there are no mosquito screens. You can choose between getting eaten by mosquitoes or finding three bats inside the house. Cleaning seems to mean a quick sweep, with no mop and water. Only two kitchen burners work, though at least there’s an outdoor barbecue. The drawers are full of useless junk, and whatever the owner promises, it won’t happen.

The main problem became clear once we stayed there: the ground floor was very damp, especially one of the two bedrooms, where the sheets and even the mattresses were soaked. The whole place also needed maintenance and proper cleaning. Shower drains were clogged, cupboards held old or empty household and personal care products, drawers were full of junk, and there were old calendars on the walls and half-open items in the fridge. A complete disaster. I hate leaving a negative review because it means I chose badly, though for our particular needs it wasn’t entirely a bad choice. We needed a two-day base for ten friends to organize an event in Sant'Agata dei Goti. I’d visited first: downstairs there was a spacious apartment with two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a large dining room; upstairs were three more bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room. Gianfranco was very nice, friendly, and helpful, and we agreed on a good rate for the whole property for two nights. That’s why I gave it “Poor,” as encouragement, rather than “Terrible.”

There’s a beautiful restaurant next to the Duomo, warm and generous in every way, serving typical local food. The property itself is a quiet, welcoming place where you feel at home, and the owner is friendly and helpful. It’s ideal for a relaxing weekend with family, especially if you enjoy this kind of place and being close to nature. We’d definitely consider coming back.

We’d already booked and couldn’t find another option, and what a disappointment. The photos speak for themselves. Hygiene, location, toilets, and bed all get zero from me, and the air inside the house was unbearable. The price wasn’t justified either. Cupboards were packed with years’ worth of junk, the barbecue was disgraceful, and the mosquitoes were killers.
