Hotel Palazzo Fortunato

The host is amazing, and reception looks fantastic. It feels like this must once have been an amazing boutique hotel, though some small things in the room are worn out now. Breakfast was okay, with some great pastries, but only toast bread and juice that wasn’t fresh. There isn’t much to see in the city.

The historic palazzo, built in 1860, is in a great spot between the Duomo and the sea. There’s an elevator, breakfast is good, and the reception and breakfast staff are super nice. The room cleaning could be better, though. I don’t know why they don’t use bleach (candeggina) to wipe down the shower walls and get rid of the black mold. They sell it in Italy, I’ve seen it at the supermarket.

I wasn’t expecting much from the hotels in Sant Agata d’Militello, so Palazzo Fortunata was a nice surprise. The rooms are large and remodeled, the staff are very friendly, and breakfast was included and the best. A really nice experience.

From the street, the location didn’t look very promising, but once you step inside, wow. It’s a beautifully fitted-out place. We dropped our bags at the hotel, then parked by the seafront about 100 metres away. We only stayed one night, but it was amazing.
