Villa Emanuel

Our stay at Villa Emanuel Relais was deeply frustrating. In the middle of peak summer, the air conditioning in our room was broken. We reported it right away, but staff told us to wait until the next day and offered no fix or compensation. With no airflow, the hot, stuffy room was unbearable, and not acceptable for a hotel claiming to offer a relaxing experience. The taxi arranged by hotel staff was another serious problem. We were quoted €30-40 for a ride of less than 10 minutes, but ended up paying far more. One staff member spoke privately on the phone before confirming the taxi, which made the situation feel shady and dishonest. After checking with locals, we were told the amount was far above the normal rate, and we felt scammed. This was unprofessional treatment. I strongly advise future guests to double check services arranged through the hotel. The stay left a very bad taste, and we won’t return.

The rooms, garden, and swimming pool were clean, and the daily cleaning was so good it surprised me. Martina was kind and very helpful, answering our questions and giving advice. The breakfast lady was always smiling and cheerful. The food was simple but tasty, and the coffee was good. After long days walking around and exploring, it was really nice to come back and rest here. I found the location beautiful and peaceful, better than crowded central Sorrento.

We had a lovely stay in this bed and breakfast. The location made it easy to get to Sorrento, and we really enjoyed the outdoor pool and the downstairs spa, which was very reasonably priced for guests. Our room was large and spacious, with a patio and garden. It might be worth adding more sun loungers once the hotel gets busier.

We booked four nights but left after just one. The room was stuffy, with barely any room for luggage, an unpleasant toilet, and a door that let mosquitoes in whenever it was opened. Breakfast was very basic, and the spa we paid for wasn’t working. The owner apologized and promised a refund, but now avoids us and doesn’t answer. Booking refunded its commission, but the owner still hasn’t responded to Booking’s inquiries or ours. Villa Emanuel felt unpleasant, and we found the owners crooked. Don’t go near this place.
