Getting around Val Gardena without a car was completely stress-free. The main bus stop is only about 50 meters away, and there’s an elevator for guests. Hotel Carmen is a great ski getaway, especially for US-based remote workers like me. The staff were warm, caring, and attentive without going overboard. Laura was quick to respond and very helpful, as was everyone else. After checkout, they even gave me a fresh bath towel and let me shower after snowboarding. I chose half board mostly to make remote work easier, and was surprised by how good and varied dinner was each night. Alongside authentic South Tyrol flavors, I even had tuna tataki one evening. The lounge bar's weekly special, a Pistachio Martini, was decent, as were the cocktails. The spa isn't very spacious, but it has a fairly complete set of wellness facilities and was good for recovering after skiing. 10 out of 10. I had a fantastic week here and highly recommend it.

The food and service were the highlights. Each morning we picked that evening's dinner from a menu, with local specialties that were excellent every time. Service was great, and wine and beer were reasonably priced. Breakfast had a big selection of local meats and cheeses, fruit, and delicious homemade bread and pastries. We spent six nights here and were sad to leave. The hotel is close to a bus stop with connections to wonderful places around the region. Our balcony room faced the mountain, and the view was spectacular. We were glad we booked it, and would recommend a mountain-facing balcony if you can. The room was a bit small, with space for a king-sized bed, side tables, a small table, and two chairs, but we hardly spent time there. It turned out to be cozy and comfortable, and the beds were comfy. We'd definitely stay again on a future visit to the beautiful Dolomites.

The room was clean and spacious, and we got a free upgrade to a balcony room with a magnificent mountain view. Dinner was decent and reasonably priced, at 50Euro per person for five courses. The booking included a free parking spot. Highly recommended!

The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made our stay even better. Our spacious room was clean and well kept, and the food was amazing, with lovely presentation. I highly recommend this hotel!
