Colvago La Corte Spectacular Ancient Country House

Such a disappointment. The excellent reviews made us think booking would be a safe choice. We booked through Booking.com, paid the fee in advance, and got official confirmation. Then, 72 hours before we were due to arrive, the owner called and asked us to cancel because he'd already rented the apartment to someone else. That left us without a place only days before departure. He said he'd find an alternative, but less than 24 hours before we were due to leave, all we got was a text with incomplete details, no price, and different dates. Truly unfair and unprofessional.

We were six people staying at Colvago Corte Spectacular for the GF Sportful Dolomiti Race, and the location was wonderful. It’s a rural old villa, which I believe was once a closed farm, with a small church just a few meters away. A splendid, well-kept garden surrounds it, though only the exterior of the villa can be visited, along with a small animal husbandry museum. The Corte Spectacular is in the annex, where we had mosquitoes and some humidity. We suggest notifying them the day before arrival to prevent mix-ups with cleaning or how the beds and rooms are arranged. 😉 It was a spectacular stay all the same. The Geanfondo also gave us everything a cyclist wants from a race. We’ll return, though I’d call my rating a passing grade. Albino
