Gasthof Zum Weissen Rössl

Dinner was decent: my calzone was tasty enough, and the staff were helpful. The bar seemed busy, and breakfast was good. For four of us sharing a room with breakfast, it came to about 35 euros each for the night. There are two buildings at this Gasthof, and the one opposite the main entrance looked much more modern. After a lot of discussion, we were moved from there to the main building. We were there for a race and had asked to move because our room had one double bed, one single, and a camp bed on a stand. The room we got was on the third floor and looked straight out of the 1970s. It had at least two single beds and a double, but the mattresses were much softer and less comfortable. They spoke German with a very strong Italian dialect.

For a low-fuss getaway, this little restaurant and place to stay in an idyllic valley is a good fit.

The location was good, but the service was rough. We waited about an hour just to get drinks, and the waitress wasn’t friendly at all.

The rooms were spacious, though a bit dated. Still, it’s a nice hotel for the price, and I’d stay here again.
