Porta Romana

We were there for the Epiphany long weekend. The person running the place wasn’t very friendly, and the beds were uncomfortable. My children slept on the sofa bed, which wasn’t very clean. The living room and kitchen weren’t comfortable either. I had to unplug the refrigerator because of the noise it made when it switched on.

We stayed at the end of August in the loft studio, and we’ll definitely return. The place stayed cool and dry enough, and it had Wi-Fi, a washing machine, a hairdryer and towels, six in all, three per person. The owners are kind, and they give you enough space to be completely independent. The location worked really well for visiting the sea, the mountains, Versilia and everything in between. You can get quickly to the city’s main road, while the apartment is also in the center, among the old streets with bars, services and nightlife in this lively town. I didn’t give five stars because I don’t know the area’s average, but I can’t give this property a negative rating. If I’m being picky, we didn’t notice a sanitizing smell when we arrived during the COVID era. It’s an apartment, after all, and keeping it perfectly clean isn’t the same as a hotel room cleaned daily. That’s the one thing that held back the rating. For us, it’ll be a reference point if we come back to this part of the country. Well done!

Sarzana’s beautiful center is right there, and the apartment was spacious, clean and had all the comforts. Everything was perfect. I’ll definitely come back, highly recommended!

I stayed here many years ago and still find it delightful and comfortable. It’s right in the historic center, with a large bathroom and a view of a puddle. Go there.
