B&B Hotel Sassari

The beds were pretty comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked great for my husband while he had to do some work. Those were the bright spots for us. The rooms otherwise felt very bare, with no coffee or complimentary water. There was just one roll of toilet paper for four people, and the view was awful, with not much to look at. I’m not sure how this place is rated so highly. Parking is limited and fills up fast, so book ahead or you may not find a spot. Their paid parking fills quickly too. The area seemed fairly safe, though the bus station is quite close, and a guy who appeared to be down on his luck tried talking to me while I was walking the dog. For the price, there may be better options.

The buffet breakfast is a must, and the hotel offers very good value. My room had excellent air conditioning, a large comfortable bed, a modern bathroom with a bidet, a small fridge, and a large TV. The friendly staff and garage for the hire car were great. The location on the outskirts of Sassari made it easy to get to restaurants and bars, and to reach the main roads for exploring Sardinia.

Getting to the hotel from Alghero airport was really easy, and the bus stop is only around 200m away. The location worked well for taking the bus. A room facing the street could be loud. The AC wouldn’t stay at 16° or 18° when we set it, and kept going back to 24°, which I found too warm. I had to get up several times during the evening to adjust it. Reception sells wine but has no bottle opener. Parking may be a tight fit if you’ve rented a mini SUV or SUV.

I only stayed one night, and it was a good experience. The guy at reception, called “Anwar,” I think, was professional and funny. Thanks, guys!
