Rooms were cold, noisy and not soundproof, and the facility stayed smoky and loud until very late. The basics are sparse, the food is terrible, and the manager's manner is unprofessional. The property seems badly run, and the outside looks abandoned. For such spartan conditions, it is also very expensive. Italian food hygiene and environmental health officers really need to look into this place.

I enjoyed my stay, though keep in mind this is an old auberge, more like a former horse post. It's a nice place for a night or two, but I wouldn't stay longer.

The hosts were super friendly, and the food was great. Lovely views, with a quiet, peaceful feel.

We paid €170 for five people. It may not sound like much, but it's still money, and being on pilgrimage doesn't mean I should be treated like a tramp. The outside looks attractive, but inside it's a dump. Beyond the fence there were discarded chairs among the trees. The bathrooms are falling apart, the electrical system seems unsafe, towels are old and stained, the phone socket is loose, and everything feels rickety. The rooms have holes, mold and bedbugs. The paid breakfast was ridiculous: dry ladyfingers, toast, coffee served in a kettle, and jam that was good. There was no care at all. In Badolo, this is the only desirable place because of its location. We were treated rudely, as were people asking for a better room because theirs smelled of bedbugs and was warmer, since the heating didn't work. They were charged an extra 15 euros. In the bathroom, they cleaned the bedpans of people who ate in the tent, but the tub had standing water. I left 35 euros per person for charity after seeing the poor hygiene. I hope they use the proceeds to renovate a place with potential. And if you need to argue about the electrician or who to send to the hospice, don't do it in front of paying guests who can hear everything.
