Casa Marinari

I had a short but wonderful escape at Casa Marinari, a modern minimalist boutique hotel set in a historic building in the sleepy seaside town of Scalea, Italy. The rooms are large, and the shower was the best I've had while living in Italy. It's easy to walk to the beach or to Scalea's town square for shopping and food. I travel between Catania and Napoli for work, and I'd happily book again. The place would fit right into an upscale beach community, and I only wish Scalea were at that level. Everything looked exactly like the photos online. Perfetto!

After three nights, we're very happy with the stay and would come back. The rooms are spacious and newly renovated, and the owners and staff were lovely and quick to respond. Requests are easy to make, just message on WhatsApp and Mariana will get back promptly. The location is excellent, a short walk to beach clubs, the main town square, and the path beside it that leads up to Old Town.

My partner, our two dogs, and I felt at home at Casa Marinai straight away. The newly built place manages to mix modern practicality with the authentic feel of the historic center, and it works really well. Our airy, welcoming room was spacious and functional, and so well kept. We spent four days there, and it became a relaxing, comfortable refuge with a lovely feel to it. Michele deserves special thanks for being attentive, courteous, and discreet. From the start we felt we could rely on him if we needed anything, and that remained true through the end of the stay.
