Garni Dürrenstein

The rooms are simple, but perfectly adequate, and from the balcony and terrace you can see all of Schenna and the mountains beyond. There’s no pool, though a season pass for the local outdoor pool, which is well worth visiting, makes up for that. A wonderful guesthouse and a very helpful hostess. 👌

We’ve been coming to Garni Dürrenstein every year for almost twenty years, and it feels like a second home. The family-run guesthouse feels like family, too. Everything is impeccably cared for, and the rooms are lovely, each with a balcony looking toward the village and Merano. So idyllic. Breakfast is generous, with everything you could want. They make specialty coffees fresh on request and bring them to the table. On sunny days we eat outside on the terrace and enjoy the view over Dorf Tirol and Merano. We feel incredibly comfortable here. Everything is just perfect!

We spent a week at Haus Dürrenstein with the whole family and would gladly come back. It’s well placed near Schenna, with a wonderful view and parking right in front. Every room has a balcony, and the rooms themselves are beautiful and welcoming. Breakfast was great, and the hostess was very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend the house.

We stayed from September 6th to 13th, 2024, and Mrs. Pirchner and her family made us feel at home from the start. Our apartment was spotless and had everything we needed, plus a lovely balcony view. Breakfast began at 8:00 am and had everything we could ask for. Mrs. Pirchner greeted us warmly every morning and served whatever coffee we wanted piping hot. We could choose scrambled or fried eggs, and boiled eggs were already available. Food was continually replenished, and someone always checked that everything was alright.
