Book a stay in Seggiano if you're after some quiet time. Luciano can suggest nice places to visit and, if you're lucky, sell you his own oil. The swimming pool is unique, really awesome.

The farmhouse has a creative, eclectic feel and sits among olive trees. We loved the green-framed pool and its mountain views, and the location made it easy to reach Monte Amiata and the towns of Val d'Orcia. Ugo the dog befriended us right away, as did Giannetto the donkey and Signora the mule. Highly recommend it.

The little house has a lot of potential, but it felt very neglected. There wasn't even any hot water, so I left a day early and lost the cost of one night. I was staying for the Tuscany Crossing, a race I've been doing regularly for four years.

Luciano was there when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. The rest of the stay was awful: the place was dirty and neglected inside and out, and neither bathroom was usable. One flooded from the drain; the other was already in poor condition, and we found a mouse and other animals there. There were also spiders, moths, flies, and more animals throughout the house. The loose, torn mosquito nets didn't help. With so many bugs, we had to keep every window shut, and it got far too hot. There was no air conditioning or fan. The pool was there, but unusable.
