My wife and I spent a long weekend at Granvara at the end of September, and I’ve been thinking about writing this for months even though I don’t usually leave reviews. The place sits in a valley, reached by winding roads, and looked almost like something from a storybook as we approached. From arriving at the hotel onward, the experiences felt unreal. There’s even a rainbow photo from the outdoor heated pool to prove it. The facilities were all top-notch: wonderful rooms, an exceptional view from ours, great pools, sauna and steam rooms, a gym, and classes. The meals were phenomenal, and I’d highly recommend the breakfast and dinner all-inclusive option. Granvara checked every box for a five-star hotel, but the staff were what made it special. If anyone says the service isn’t great, they’re wrong. The owners, maintenance team, and everyone in between were so good at what they do. We’d become great friends with some of the wait staff by the time we left. Sara was kind and very cool, spoke about four languages including Latin, and noticed on our first evening that my wife was pregnant. She helped point out dishes that might contain raw fish for her to avoid, almost like our OBGYN. We loved seeing her at breakfast and dinner. Angelo was another favorite. We hugged him goodbye on our last day, he was so friendly and memorable. The front desk team was eager to help us plan hikes, find local lunch spots, and get around town. Honestly, Granvara and its incredible staff were 11 out of 10, heaven on earth. There was no comparison with anything else, and we can’t wait to return. Stop hesitating, book it! I could write a poem about the team, but I’ll save it for another day. - Brett & Selene

We arrived with one question about the hotel’s beautiful location outside the village: would getting to the gondolas be inconvenient? The shuttles ran throughout the day whenever we wanted, and we never waited more than five minutes. We spent eight days there during the last week of March for a winter sports holiday. The rooms were lovely, with warm, modern furnishings, and the lounge and bar were cozy. After skiing, we enjoyed relaxing in the spa and pool. The food was a treat every day, from start to finish, and so good it deserved a Michelin star. The Senoner family and the whole staff worked as a team, making us feel welcome in a natural, warm way, without the excessive frills you sometimes get at five-star hotels. We’ve stayed in many four- and five-star hotels around the world, but Granvara won our hearts in those eight days. We left with hugs and promised to return next year, and hopefully for years after. Love to everyone on the Granvara team! Anja & Yasmin

Everything was wonderful, from breakfast and dinner to the lobby and spa. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff were professional and did all they could to make guests happy. It was an incredible stay at a hotel that felt beyond perfect. There’s no question we’ll choose it again the next time we visit the Dolomites.

The owners were around every day and night, and made the hotel feel homey. They also went above and beyond to prepare delicious meals each night for my wife’s vegan, gluten-free diet. With its tasty food, comfortable rooms, and lovely spa, Granvara was a relaxing and luxurious five-star boutique stay. A hidden gem in Val Gardena, and we’ll definitely be back.

The part that keeps bringing us back is the way everything is handled. Requests, from ski lessons for any level to medical help, were dealt with quickly and with real care. The service is outstanding, and the owners have built a place where you can feel the attention to detail and hospitality everywhere. We’ve stayed at Granvara three times now, and already booked for next year. My family and I have tried many hotels in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, but this is still our favorite. The rooms, food, and spa are all impeccable and consistently kept to a high standard. It’s comfortable without losing that warm, family feel. From first turns to freestyle, everything is organized so well. It’s the best ski holiday for us.
