Conchiglia

The family atmosphere made us feel comfortable right away at Hotel Conchiglia. We stayed two nights with full board and found the hotel welcoming, with tidy spaces. It’s well placed for getting around and close to the area’s main attractions, while still being a relaxing and convenient place to stay. The staff were one of its best features, always helpful, friendly and smiling. We also had the option of eating at the sister hotel, the Hotel Argentina, where the food was good and the setting pleasant. That added a lot to our stay. I’d recommend Hotel Conchiglia without hesitation and would gladly return. Brescia Bruno Tanya.

This was my third stay, during an international figure skating trophy, and it’ll be my last. The bathroom water was freezing because the boiler had failed. I also left a high-quality shirt in the closet and called just a few hours after checking out, but they couldn’t find it.

I found a bedbug in the bed, another in the shower, and one on the wall. The shower was dirty, had a used bar of soap in it, and no spray head. The bidet was broken and the bathroom window wouldn’t open. Water didn’t seem to be filtered, and the towels hadn’t been washed. Cleanliness was awful throughout. There was hair on the dishes, in the shower, on the beds, on baking trays, and in glasses. The glasses also had lipstick marks. The blankets were unwashed, with boogers and hair on them, and some of my roommates found blood on theirs. There was so much dust that some roommates got bitten by dust mites. When I complained, the staff laughed in my face and were rude and unhelpful. I honestly don’t know how this place has three stars.

We stayed for a week, and the food was delicious from breakfast through all the treats that made us feel at home. The waiters were wonderful too. The location may not suit people like us who prefer to be more central, but buses run every half hour along the long seafront promenade. A great experience!
