Tenuta Tenaglia

We spent a week here and often made use of the lovely pool and outdoor lounging area. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the beds were comfortable. Our apartment was clean and spacious, split over two floors, with two toilets and a shower. The kitchen was small but fine for breakfast and a couple of dinners. There are a few apartments in a building beside the main house at Tenuta Tenaglia, a real gem in the Monferrato hills of Piedmont. The on-site wine tasting was passionate and very professional. Their wines are high quality, and we loved hearing about the place and its approach to winemaking. Naturally, we took some bottles home. Paola’s knowledge and enthusiasm brought the vineyard’s history and the meaning of each grape variety to life. She shared stories as we tasted, and it gave us a much deeper appreciation of the wines. We tried Otium, then the refreshing Monferrato Chiaretto rosé, the lively Grignolino Monferace, and the bold Syrah. Barbera 1930 was the standout for us, with each sip seeming to carry us back in time. Our visit to Tenuta Tenaglia, in Serralunga di Crea, felt like a meeting of winemaking tradition and new ideas. The welcome came with a beautiful view of the "Colline del Monferrato," and the tasting was a chance to explore the estate’s wines and heritage.
