Hotel Villa Sirena

Sant'Angelo was our favorite place on a two-week trip around Southern Italy, a real gem. The property has spectacular views, and Guido and his family made us feel like part of theirs as soon as we arrived. They run a fantastic operation.

The hotel was quiet and relaxing since it was the end of the tourist season. We had a terrace room with a lovely sea view, and breakfast was delicious. When one of the owners noticed how much Robert liked fresh figs, he brought some especially for him every morning. Everyone treated us wonderfully despite it being late in the season, and we were even invited to the staff cookout on the official last night. My partner Robert and I stayed in October 2021, sorry this review took so long. We had an incredible time, and I still dream about coming back. Thanks for a great stay!

The view is so lovely, you can forgive the hotel a lot. My husband and I spent a nice week there in June 2024. The staff communicated well with us before and during the stay. Some didn't speak English, but they were willing to help with questions, including arranging transfers and suggesting attractions. The location is very convenient, surrounded by what you might need, and there are nice places to relax both indoors and outside. The room was poorly equipped. There was no kettle or hairdryer by default, or even glasses and dishes. We asked and got these things, but the appliances were quite old, and there was only one set for the whole hotel. Room cleaning amounted to folding towels and making the bed. They didn't change sheets or towels or wet-clean the room even once during our stay. The sun loungers on the patio had dirty mattresses, so we had to clean them ourselves before using them. There was also a strange bottled-water rule: at breakfast, two people could get one 0.5L bottle, but after that we had to pay. The hotel had no water cooler or anything similar. Breakfast was the same each day and not very varied, mostly sweet, with no eggs. Some may see that as a plus, others as a minus.

The half-board dinners were excellent value, and everything we ate was delicious, from traditional Ischian rabbit to pizza. They also had a whole case of homemade cakes. The wait staff were excellent and knew a lot about the wines and menu. Sant Angelo is a lovely little town with great restaurants, cafes, shops, and beaches nearby. My husband and I stayed four nights in mid-September in an ocean-view room with half board, and were very pleased with the trip. The room was comfortable, with a new, large, updated bathroom. Housekeeping was excellent, and fresh linens were promptly provided every day. I do wish there had been a small fridge. The place feels family-run, and every staff member looked after us well. I'd happily stay again.
